A daughter’s birth is a moment of pure joy — a symbol of love, hope, and prosperity. However, in many parts of society, outdated beliefs continue to overshadow this happiness, associating the birth of a girl with misfortune. To break these stereotypes and honor the invaluable role of daughters, Hope Welfare Trust, in collaboration with Green Army, has launched the heartwarming initiative Beti Utsav.
Through this initiative, families welcoming a baby girl are gifted a Basket of Joy,.containing nutritious items such as dry fruits, fresh fruits, and baby essentials like a feeding bottle. Additionally, a symbolic gullak (piggy bank) is provided to encourage savings for the girl’s future.
To further support the health and well-being of both the mother and child, they are placed under observation for six months. In a meaningful gesture of hope and sustainability, a tree is planted for each newborn girl, representing growth, strength, and the shelter both will provide in the future.
